Home Office Reveal

How is it 2020 ALREADY? To say I’m behind on my blogging is an understatement, but I’m glad to be back posting another house update for you guys. We’re already approaching our 1 year mark on our new build, and we’re still super happy with every little design decision that we made.

I’ve had my office done for a while, as you can see in this Instagram post here, but I just haven’t gotten around to actually posting about it. When designing this room, I wanted it to have a feminine feel, but since it’s the first room you see when you enter our house, I didn’t want it to look too girly. I had been dying to use a blush pink for a while, so this was the perfect place to do just that. I decided to pair the light blush hue with a bold kelly green to give the room some contrast.

One of the most asked questions I get about this room is where I got the desk from. Well, it’s actually not a desk at all! It’s a dining room table that I’ve had for years. It might even be one of my favorite pieces of furniture I’ve ever owned. I love how rustic it looks, yet how versatile it is. Many years ago we decided it would be too small to ever use as a dining table, so we drilled 2 large holes in the table to allow computer and lamp cords through. I bought this table at a small boutique years ago, so I’m not sure if they make it anymore, but when searching for a large desk, I would be open-minded to looking at dining tables, rather than desks. It’s my little “designer secret.”
