Getting Settled Into The New House

It’s been a while since I’ve visited the ole’ blog here, but after months of craziness, I’m finally back and ready to share all my adventures as of late. We recently moved into our new house and have been working hard to get all settled in. Although we built our house from the ground up, we still had a TON of work to do after we moved in. Since builders have their own markup, we wanted to do a lot of upgrades and additions after we moved in. After talking with a number of different contractors, we settled on a few that we were really happy with, and completed most of the work within the first month of moving in.

We added things like floating shelves, a wall of custom-built bunk beds, a media screen wall, a shiplap surround for our living room fireplace wall, an extended back patio, and so much more.  We — and by “we”, I mean my dad — installed over 20 sconce lights throughout the home that we pre-wired for during the build. I ordered all of the sconces from Amazon (most of them for under $50) and installed them for a fraction of the cost. We did the same with most of the light fixtures throughout the home as well. Ikea, Amazon, etc. They were all super affordable, but look SUPER high end. I will be sharing all of those finds in a later post, so make sure to stay tuned. I’ve also been sharing a ton of my home progress on my instagram stories, so be sure to follow me at @AmyHorany for more!

We also installed 2 incredible electric fireplaces (seen here) after we moved in, a 110 inch projector media screen (seen here) for our media room, as well as the coolest and most comfortable reclining sectional for the media room (seen here). As you can tell, we’ve been hard at work over here and I can’t wait to start sharing each room with you. I’ll also continue to share all of my source lists with you guys so y’all get can the good deals that I searched MONTHS for. Hopefully I can save you guys a lot of time!
