When a home approaches a century of life, its architecture has clearly proven it can stand the test of time. But even the most charming old homes carry moments where the design has slipped out-of-era.
This dining room quickly became a favorite project. We were gifted with incredible bones and a generous footprint, acting as a true blank canvas. From there, we had the freedom to drench the space in vibrant color, layered pattern, and fresh personality; breathing new life into a room ready to shine again.

Furnishings
The vision for this dining room was to embrace a moody atmosphere while keeping the overall feel relaxed, cool, and effortlessly refined. We wanted the space to read high-end and elegant, yet still warm, welcoming, and undeniably cozy.
The richly detailed wallpaper set the tone; its depth pairing beautifully with the room’s newly-installed chair rail moulding. To ground the room, we painted the chair rail a saturated teal pulled directly from the wallpaper’s palette. The addition of mid-century modern furniture created a striking, intentional contrast; balancing the classic architectural elements with a fresh, modern edge.

The final install of this dining room beautifully reflects the balance between moodiness and approachability that our client envisioned. By leaning into deep, saturated tones and pairing them with soft natural textures, we created a space that feels both sophisticated and comfortably lived-in.
