It’s always so fun to get a client that isn’t afraid of color. A few months ago I had the pleasure of designing a guest room for a client that lives just up the road from me. She lives in an old house, has great style, and let me go crazy with color. Talk about DREAM client. She had only one request, and that was to use a piece of art that she actually created herself. I was all for it, and her art is actually what inspired my entire design.

  1. West Elm Console Table
  2. Gold Light Fixture
  3. Black and White Abstract Art
  4. Mosaic Multi-Colored Art
  5. Barn Art (Sea Foam Blue and Citrine)
  6. Mirror
  7. Side Table
  8. Pink Lumbar Pillow
  9. Citrine Pillows
  10. Black and White Pillow
  11. “X” Ottomans
  12. Shag Rug
  13. Lamps

She had an existing headboard, which was a light oak color that needed to be updated just a bit. I chose a deep teal for the paint color and went from there. My citrine accents complimented the bold teal as well as that fun pop of hot pink. If I had to choose, my favorite piece of this entire room is that West Elm media console. It’s beautiful when you see it online, but even prettier in person.

What’s your favorite element in this room? Does anyone else love this vibrant palette as much as I do?
